Stevie Nicks: 'Enchanted: The Works of Stevie Nicks'

By Edna Gundersen, Music Central Online

**** (4 out of 5 stars)

This three-CD overview puts to rest any lingering notion of Stevie Nicks as a half-baked fantasy pop tart in fringed shawls and platform boots. She's all that (as evidenced in the absorbing, photo-packed, 64-page booklet) and much more (documented in the three-and-a-half-hour journey through live cuts, B-sides and still-fresh hits). Anchored by bracing melodies and an aching, soulful rasp, Nicks' dreamy, gold-dust visions have a depth and dimension far sturdier than the reality-based confessionals of many peers. Though inextricably linked to the heyday of Fleetwood Mac, rock's gypsy goddess towers as a prolific solo artist on the enchanting "Enchanted." Record label: Atlantic
