MY HUSBAND AND I ATTENDED THE DETROIT SHOW SUNDAY NIGHT MARCH,8 AT THE PALACE OF AUBURN HILLS. I HAVE PERSONALLY SEEN THE BAND A TOTAL OF FIVE TIMES AND THIS WAS THE BEST SHOW YET---THEY ARE GETTING BETTER AND MORE INTENSE WITH AGE. THE ENTIRE SHOW WAS BRILLANT, INCLUDING THE STAGE ITSELF, THE LIGHT AND BACKGROUND EFFECTS. THE WHOLE BAND REALLY STOOD OUT GREAT WITH THE BACKGROUND EFFECTS. I FEEL THAT LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM IS SO TERRIBLY UNDER-RATED AS A MUSICIAN---THE MAN IS SO INTENSE AND SO BRILLIANT WITH HIS GUITARS. THE MAN IS RIGHT UP WITH THE VERY BEST OF THE BEST OF THEM ALL TIME GUITAR HEROS!! IT WAS ALSO THRILLING TO HEAR STEVIE PERFORM STORMS, AND TO HEAR THE OH WELL LIVE! I WAS BLOWN AWAY! WE HAD GREAT SEATS CENTRE STAGE(B) SECTION, ROW 25---FELT SO INVOLVED AND SO INCLUDED INTO THE SHOW. I WILL NEVER FORGET IT AND I WILL TREASURE THE MEMORIES OF THE SHOW FOREVER~~
FLEETWOOD MAC ROCKS ---ALWAYS HAVE AND THEY ALWAYS WILL!!

Imagine my excitement when I heard about Fleetwood Mac going on the road with a greatest hits tour to be called “Unleashed”. I have seen Fleetwood Mac on every tour starting with Tusk. Back then it seemed like the group wanted to do the show and get out of the city as fast as possible. The Sunday night show in Metro Detroit was fantastic and bare bones Buckingham, Nicks, McVie and Fleetwood. Culling “most” songs from the first three albums with the dynamic duo, Fleetwood Mac absolutely rocked from beginning to end. You can tell a great concert by people who never leave their seats and those who do… race back in record time. The songs…are you kidding….Buckingham rocked out the “Chain”, “So Afraid”, “Go Your Own Way” and did a plugged in version of “Go Insane” that few have ever seen live. Stevie was Godless Nicks living up to her legend that grows larger with every new song and live performance. I had read earlier reviews of the tour that her voice and motivation seemed lacking, geez the tour was only into its second week by the time it hit Motown….Maybe Buckingham’s soaring guitar and madman spirit took something away those nights. I was blessed to meet Stevie backstage last summer on her tour with Boston that took her through Michigan. She made me feel like I was her best friend and her affection toward my son and I was nothing short of….well what legends are made of. She looked spectacular that summer night and again this past Sunday night. To hear “Sara” live with Buckingham’s magical guitar accompaniment for the first time since the Tusk tour was a moment I will never forget from this show. Stevie was so into it too and never faded on a song that is one of her longest. Of course “Gold Dust Woman” and “Stand Back” rocked out as well. The show closed with “Silver Springs” which has always be a favorite and has come a long way from the B side of “Go your own way” back in the day of buying ’45 singles. The crowd which was mixed between aging baby boomers and YOUNG females seemed to battle all night. The young females wanted dance and sing while the boomers wanted them to sit down and shut up! I am sure the band would have been amused if they could have seen the various instances of this going on in all areas of the area. I guess that is the most enduring tribute to this band. As Buckingham has said Fleetwood Mac is a machine and that machine was as powerful as ever Sunday night in Motown.
