STEVIE NICKS "If You Ever Did Believe"

(Warner Bros.) With a wink and a nod, this emblem of throaty-voiced, witchy-garbed moon-goddessness has written a new single for the Practical Magic soundtrack. From the opening acoustic guitar picking, Nicks' "Baby don't leave me" song has the comfort of vintage Fleetwood Mac, with top notch vocal and production assists from kindred spirit Sheryl Crow. When Nicks sings, "I don't think I can handle this at all," she casts a spell of womanly yearning. A- -Beth Johnson
