102.9 WMGK, Philadelphia, Will Exhibit Works of Art Created by Popular Musicians, Singers and Songwriters at the Shops at Liberty Place

The Month-Long 102.9 WMGK Rock Art Show and Silent Auction Opens to the Public On Friday, November 16 and Will Benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- WMGK (102.9FM/Philadelphia) will showcase a never-before-seen collection of original art and lithographs, as well as handwritten, autographed song lyrics from popular music's greatest songwriters at the second annual 102.9 WMGK Rock Art Show to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The 102.9 WMGK Rock Art Show opens to the public on Friday, November 16 at 9:30 a.m. and runs seven days a week, during mall hours through Sunday, December 16, 2001 at the Shops at Liberty Place at the corner of 17th and Chestnut Streets (former location of Warner Brothers Store), in Center City, Philadelphia. Admission to the show is free and all works of art are available to purchase via silent auction with the proceeds benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. 102.9 WMGK on-air personality Debbi Calton will broadcast live from the show opening on November 16th. Popular musicians Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty are the Honorary Chairpersons for this event.

The 102.9 WMGK Rock Art Show features over 125 works of art from a diverse cross section of popular music artists including: Jerry Garcia, Ron Wood (Rolling Stones), John Lennon, John Entwistle (The Who), Phil Collins, Tom Petty, Grace Slick (Jefferson Airplane), Santana, Tony Bennett, Graham Nash, REM, Art Garfunkel and dozens more. In addition to the original art and handwritten song lyrics, the 102.9 WMGK Rock Art Show will feature classic fine art photography from legendary photographers such as Baron Wolman (original photographer from Rolling Stone Magazine) and Richard E. Aaron.
